Plumas Wood Fiber has been participating in the Field Testing and Acceleration Program offered by the Conservation X Labs Fire Grand Challenge- a program designed to accelerate innovative ideas for dealing with wild fire. The program gave Plumas Wood Fiber, and partner Earthworm Soil Factory, the opportunity to manufacture samples of wood fiber potting substrate from western forest excess biomass, and deliver these samples to horticultural businesses and researchers to do growth trials, to validate the materials. Listed here (in no particular order) are results from participating nurseries and academic researchers, who did trials.
